Brett joined the Heideman, McKay, Heugly & Olsen team in 2006. He first worked as a clerk, and then began practicing as an attorney after graduation from the University of Idaho, College of Law, in May 2008. He earned a double-major from Utah State University in Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Spanish, with a minor in Chemistry. His practice focuses primarily on business and commercial law.
During his last semester of law school, Brett clerked for the Honorable Edward J. Lodge, United States District Court for the District of Idaho. While working with Judge Lodge, he participated in the capital sentencing phase of the Joseph Duncan trial.
Brett enjoys playing basketball, reading, and taking advantage of the outdoor recreation activities available in Utah. While completing his undergraduate work he played rugby for BYU ,and was involved with the basketball program at Utah State by coaching at summer camps.
Brett was born in Provo, and raised in Malad, Idaho. He currently resides in Pleasant Grove, Utah, with his wife, Shannon. In addition to practicing law at Heideman, McKay, Heugly & Olsen, he periodically teaches biology and paralegal course at Broadview University.
